So... I fully realize its been OVER A YEAR since we've updated our blog, though our intentions were to update MUCH more frequently, we're still here, and now have internet in our home, so it will be MUCH easier to remember, and update more often:).
This last year has been a fun one, we purchased a house between Fairbanks and North Pole, just under an acre of property in a nice, mature little neighborhood. Our house was built in 2007, its two stories but is very tall because there is also a partially above ground basement. The house is cute, a fixer upper that we're finally getting ready to start fixing up! Currently it's a two bedroom, one bath with an unfinished basement. Our plan is to create a master suite down there. So far we've been able to get the electrical in the basement finished, replace both toyo stoves with new ones which keep the house much warmer, and replace the broken window that was in the basement. The next phase of the project is to sheetrock and finish the basement- hopefully in the next month or so- whenever the weather warms up:).
Now on to what most of you check our blog for... the boys!
Carson is growing so quickly. He'll have his second birthday May 29th! He loves playing outside, playing in the bath, with Aurora, and in his room with his brother. He recently moved from his crib to his big boy bed and is pretty proud of himself. He's saying: mommy, daddy, mine, NO, up, buba, grams, gigi, poppy, aurora (our yorkie/maltese mix), buddy, bunny (his favorite stuffed animal he carries with him everywhere and sleeps with), bus, yuck... and probably a few more I can't think of right now. He took a while to start talking, but he's saying more every day now:). Though he's always been quite the busy boy, getting into everything, and stuborn as can be, he's learning boundaries and is doing well staying within them, most of the time:). He hasn't always been a cuddler, but recently he's taken to cuddling, a LOT. We're LOVING it!
Caleb started Rainbows this year and really enjoys it. He's quite the little evangelist, he acts out bible stories with the kids we watch during the week and on several occasions has told one or both of the boys that they need to ask Jesus into their hearts. He is really excited to start kindergarten in the fall, going to school like his best buddy Uncle Anthony. He wears his backpack everywhere he goes, filled with books, pens, and toys. He really enjoys playing outside, "reading" the books he's got memorized to us, watching movies, and learning- he LOVES to learn! Always asking inteligent questions, I often forget he's only five years old! He's SUCH a cuddle bug, and a sweet friend to everyone he meets.
Jessie started watching two little boys in our home this year... One stays all day while the other is at school most of the day. She's been watching two additional boys for the last couple months for a few hours a couple days a week as well, but that will be done at the end of the school year. The extra income has been great, having friends for Caleb and Carson to play with during the long winter months has been extra fun!
Mark is still working at Fred Meyer and was promoted to Assistant Manager of the Produce Department. He was recently in a car accident. The car he was driving was totalled, spun in a circle one and a half times, one of the tires folded up under the vehicle and the rear axle was popped out, but Praise God, He protected Mark! We're currently in the process of dealing with the insurance of the man who hit Mark. If you think of it, say a little prayer, it's not the funnest thing in the world to deal with.
We spent this school year working on our classes to become lisenced ministers with the Assemblies of God. We're well on our way! We have our last regular school year class this coming saturday. I will have two and Mark will have one class as well as our internships left to complete over the summer and are planning on applying for our lisences this fall!
More updates to come, another post on our trip to the Alaskan Village of Minto a couple weekends ago will be soon to follow. Blessings Friends!
